As head of the Rye Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), Warren Downs is the Sergeant responsible for local community policing; high visibility patrolling and engaging with the local community through public meeting attendance, surgeries, assisting with and supporting community activities, reducing crime and dealing with local issues. He is currently supported in this role by PC Nigel Collins CC905 who is responsible for Brede Valley and Rother Levels electoral wards. Nigel works with PCSO Richard Perchard who takes care of the of Brede Valley which includes the parishes of Brede, Westfield and Udimore.

The NPT is supported by the Rother Neighbourhood Response Team who operate twenty four hours a day from Rye, Battle and Bexhill police stations.
